To All Stallholders
Brisbane Valley Multicultural Festival 2010
Dear Stallholders
As some of you would be aware, this is our 12th Multicultural Festival held here in Esk. The festival is growing over the years and is receiving a reputation of a renowned Diverse Festival with an accompanying market with a very high standard of goods for the Market Stalls.
We have received feedback from Stallholders and public alike about our Art and Craft Market and the organizing committee considers it is important to take on board any feedback or criticism about the festival or its’ stalls. We try very hard to be fair to all market stalls and as such we will not book stalls that are too similar to other stalls that have already booked. Some stall holders have permanent stall sites booked with us.
At this years Festival, the festival ground will be completely changed, due to the new development (Legacy Park) by the Toowoomba Pipeline. As such market stalls will carefully placed around the new festival grounds to ensure proper continuation and use of the area. Also because of the new development, the final map may be a little late in coming out. We ask Market Stallholders to please bear with us in the first year of the new development as we are sure there maybe a few problems to iron out.
The Festival committee tries very hard to ensure a very high standard of market stalls and we request that stallholders also consider this high standard when organising their stalls for the festival. Some stallholders may decide not to bring all their normal stock and concentrate more on the policy of the festival. Bright, festive stalls are always appreciated.
This year we are requesting a full description of your stall to ensure Festival Policy.
Most of you who have attended before you would be familiar with the policy of the festival which is all
stalls are to be Arts, Crafts, Homemade Goods, Cultural goods, Gardening and Food.
( No second hand goods on site) Community Information Stalls Free. Please note that all stall sites are 4 metres / 4 metres, and some stall sites are connected. Please take into consideration, your ropes, awnings etc. If your stall is bigger than this, YOU WONT FIT, and you will have a huge headache. Please do not infringe upon your neighbours space. We do not permit that any other area, be used for your stall space. If you are paying for a 4m x 4m space, then that is the area to be used. If your stall is larger in area, please specify on your expression of interest the details. PLEASE REMEMBER OUR POLICY WITH NO PLASTIC TOYS ON SITE. PLEASE ALSO REMEMBER THAT WE DO NOT PROVIDE GAZEBOS, CHAIRS AND TABLES.
Last festival we had a very high number of requests for stall sites, and as such, quite a few stallholders missed out on coming for the day. Unfortunately we had some stall sites who booked and did not turn up which is disappointing for those who missed out. To ensure this does not happen this year we are requesting that all stalls must pay their stall fee before Festival day when they are booking their site. Some constructive feedback about food stalls from the public, where looking for more international food and we ask that these food stalls consider their menu on the day. We also must ensure that there is no doubling up of food stalls to ensure fairness for all community groups who are fundraising and other food vendors.
Stall holders will be able to set up from 6.30am on the day and we request that all stall sites are properly set up by 8.30. Vehicles will not be allowed to drive through festival site between the times of 8.30am - 4.00pm.
Further information, regarding your stall number, a map and other details will be mailed to you approximately one month prior to Festival.
Please note that stall spaces are limited and the decision by the festival committee on appropriate stalls will be final.
