 BUSH POETRY GROUP

BRISBANE VALLEY WRITERS & RECITERS

THE GROUP

The inspirational Brisbane Valley Writers and Reciters, have been together almost four years, reading, writing, and performing in the Somerset region with poetry, stories, skits, plays and radio serials.

During the last twelve months they have presented and performed at a number of venues and events for both large and small groups like the recent Somerset Seniors Day and BRING IT ON… THE monthly entertainment evening in Esk  (forward dates; July 14; August 11; September 8, 2009). They continue with their radio presentation at Valley FM and have several links with other poet groups.

On Australia Day 2009, the writers and reciters published their brilliant, first anthology titled, ‘W.O.W!’

When interviewed, Desiree’ said, “Of course I won’t have time to attend any of the meetings but I’ll be there in spirit. I’m sure the others (group members) know how it is when you’re bordering on fame.”   Asked to comment on her writing, she added, “People will have to make up their own minds about it, so there’s really nothing for me to comment on.” In 2004, she had work published in ‘The Drift’ (local news and gossip) and said it was a newsy number - photostat sheets fastened together with a silver staple. Desiree’ was proud to add that she had met the mayor and one of the advertisers in the W.O.W! publication.
