WHO ARE WE

Brisbane Valley

Multicultural Assoc Inc

The Brisbane Valley Multicultural Assoc Inc (BVMA) was established in September 1996 to promote better understandings between the different cultures within the Brisbane Valley and surrounding areas. The group has now expanded to include all cultures within the valley.

The BVMA is a non-profit, non-political and non-religious organisation. Funding depends largely on grants, membership fees and fundraising activities.

OBJECTIVE:

The main objective of BVMA is to have a better understanding and united multicultural group in the Brisbane Valley community as well as to raise funds for the community and charity.

Recent achievements have been the joint venture with the Esk Shire Council, in the funding of the first Bus Shelter in Esk. We hope to work towards similar projects in other towns. The Annual Multicultural Festival is of great economic benefit for Esk Businesses.

The Brisbane Valley Multicultural Dance Group

The Brisbane Valley Multicultural Dance Group is a diverse group of people who are committed to keeping alive Ethnic Traditional Folk dancing. Over the last few years they have developed into a professional group, highlighting many different nationalities, as well as contemporary dancing. The BVMA members are also involved in various charitable works, and we assist the public and community in a variety of different ways.

Volunteers

Would you like to be a volunteer?

The BVMA is now holding an annual Multicultural Festival.

This festival has now become not only a venue to promote other cultures within our society, but a forum for all community groups to promote their organisations, and to show how their individual groups are contributing to our community.

The success of the Street Parade, quite clearly shows, the excitement of these groups being involved in a Community gathering.

If being a BVMA Member is not for you, maybe you would be willing to offer just an hour of your time, to be a community volunteer at the next Multicultural Festival.

If so, please contact us on (54241253) and let us know how you would like to help.

Community Participation

The Brisbane valley Multicultural Assoc is always willing to give a helping hand to all community groups throughout the region. We can write letters of support to help associations access various government and community grants.

We also participate in their events with food stalls or our dance group will perform numerous ethnic dances.

Members

Members of the Dance Group are also members of the Brisbane Valley Multicultural Assoc.
